history

The previous clubs

The most successful parent club was the FTSV Brackwede , whose footballers became Bielefeld district champions in 1931. In the final of the championship of the 11th district, the FTSV prevailed in front of 4,000 spectators in Bremerhaven with 5: 4 against the FSV Lehe and reached the final of the northwest German championship of the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association . There the Brackweder failed in the first round. The FTSV had no chance against the later champions SC Lorbeer Hamburg around Erwin Seeler and lost 1:12 in front of 5,000 spectators in the Hoheluft stadium in Hamburg . It was to be the FTSV's only success. The middle-class footballers from Westfalia Brackwede played in the 1930s in the second-class district class at the time. The greatest success was fourth place in 1935, before Westfalia was relegated two years later.

Successful post-war period (1945 to 1972)

The most successful times of the football department of SV Brackwede were the fifties and sixties . After a runner-up in 1951 behind TuS Eintracht Bielefeld , the Brackweder became district class champions a year later. In the promotion round to the then third-class Landesliga Westfalen , the SVB prevailed against SV Ennigloh 09 and TuRa Elsen without losing points and rose. In the state league, the Brackweder developed into a goal-hungry team. In the 1954/55 season , the SVB managed a 9-0 win against SpVg Brakel and even an 11-1 win against SpVgg Fichte Bielefeld . A year later, the SVB managed a 2-0 home win against Arminia Bielefeld and qualified for the newly created Association League Westphalia .

From this Brackweder topped with a point behind SV Bockum-Hoevel from promptly . In the 1957/58 season, the team made headlines with a 3-2 win over the second division Dortmund SC 95 in the West German Cup , before SVA Gütersloh scored 4-1 in the second round for the Brackweder to be eliminated . In the national league it was enough to runner-up behind TBV Lemgo in 1960 and 1962 , while in 1963 SuS Lage became champions in front of SVB. Finally, in 1964, he was promoted back to the association league. The Brackweder now became the elevator crew . The team rose again in 1965 , then again up and down again in the national league. It was not until the third league promotion in 1968 that the team was able to establish itself in the Westphalian upper house. After an eighth place in the 1970/71 season , the Brackweder rose a year later with only 6:54 points.

Decline (since 1972)

It was the first of three descents in a row. In the 1972/73 season the team was last in the national league with 4:60 points. A year later, the Brackweder remained without a win in the district league and left with 3:53 in the district league. In both seasons, the team conceded more than 100 goals. 1977 succeeded in returning to the district league, which lasted only two years after a lost game against DE Kusenbaum . The next rise followed in 1981 and this time the Brackweder were able to hold out for three years. After a runner-up behind the second team of VfR Wellensiek in 1990, it went up to the district league for the last time a year later. The direct relegation followed, as one point was missing on VfL Schildesche and SV Spexard .

After relegation, the Brackweder remained in the top group of the district league A, before it went down in the district league B in 2000. The play-off against relegation was lost 6-7 on penalties against SG Oesterweg . The direct resurgence was followed by three years in the district upper house before it went back down to the district league B. 2006 succeeded the renewed ascent, but the direct relegation followed. Since then, the first team has played in the Bielefeld district league B. In 2015, the Brackwede runners-up behind SpVg Heepen , and two years later runners-up behind FC Altenhagen .
