Bernd Naschke

Bernd Naschke (born January 7, 1943 in Beuthen ; † February 12, 2017 in Bielefeld ) was a German football player .

Career

Naschke and his family fled from Silesia towards the end of the Second World War to Sennelager near Paderborn before the family settled in Bielefeld. At the age of ten he joined the youth department of Arminia Bielefeld . In 1961 he was West German champion with the A-youth and then moved up to the first team. With this he became a year later with final victories over the BV Brambauer Westfalenmeister and rose to the II. Division West. There Naschke made eleven games as a winger in the 1962/63 season and scored two goals. At the end of the season, the Bielefeld team qualified for the newly created Regionalliga West .

In the summer of 1963 Naschke moved to local rivals VfB 03 Bielefeld in the then third-class Verbandsliga Westfalen . On May 14, 1964, Naschke was involved in a serious car accident on the way from Gütersloh to Bielefeld that cost him his right eye . Despite this visual impairment, he continued and moved to the regional league team DJK Gütersloh in 1966 . A year later he returned to VfB 03 Bielefeld before he joined the club, which was promoted to the SV Brackwede , in 1968 . In 1972 Naschke returned to VfB 03 Bielefeld and promptly won the Westphalia Championship with his team, but failed in the promotion round to the Regionalliga. From 1974 to 1977 he let his career as a player-coach with the district league club TuS Quelle end.

Bernd Naschke was a trained automotive electrician .
