The Haller Kreisblatt , HK for short, is a local daily newspaper founded in 1882 for the old district of Halle (Westphalia), which became part of the Gütersloh district in 1973. The sold circulation is 10,535 copies, a decrease of 21.2 percent since 1998. The publisher is based in Halle (Westphalia) , district Gartnisch and is the only daily newspaper publisher based in the Gütersloh district.

The Haller Kreisblatt reports from Monday to Saturday from the towns of Halle, Borgholzhausen , Steinhagen , Versmold and Werther . It takes over the cover from the Bielefeld daily newspaper Neue Westfälische , with which it cooperates in an advertising and editorial community. The newspaper itself is run independently as a family business.

The Haller Kreisblatt is considered to be rather conservative. It has a four percent stake in Audio Media Service - the local radio station, Radio Gütersloh . The newspaper competes in its circulation area, the northern district of Gütersloh, with the regional newspaper publisher Westfalen-Blatt based in Bielefeld . According to IVW , the Haller Kreisblatt is by far the leading daily newspaper for the old district of Halle.
