Oleksandr Oleksandrowytsch Danyljuk ( Ukrainian Олександр Олександрович Данилюк ; born July 22, 1975 in Grigoriopol , Moldovan SSR ) is a Ukrainian politician. From April 2016 to early June 2018 he was Minister of Finance of Ukraine and from May 28, 2019 to September 30, 2019 he was Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine .

Life

Danylyuk studied at the Kiev Institute of Investment Management, the National Technical University of Ukraine "KPI" and the School of Business ( MBA ) of Indiana University . He speaks five languages. After completing his studies, he worked on projects for Baker & McKenzie in London and Moscow for three years , and then headed a London investment fund for four years.

Under the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych , Danylyuk was an independent presidential advisor until February 24, 2014 and from September 2010 he headed the coordination office for the implementation of economic reforms.

On July 17, 2014, Danylyuk was appointed permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and on September 25, 2015, he was appointed deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine .

Since a cabinet reshuffle on April 14, 2016, Danyljuk has been Ukraine's finance minister in the Hroysman cabinet, succeeding Natalija Jaresko . In early June 2018, the Rada voted to fire Danylyuk.

On May 28, 2019, he was appointed Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi . On September 27 of the same year, he submitted a motion to be removed from this position, which the President granted on September 30, 2019.
