The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine ( Ukrainian Рада національної безпеки і оборони України [РНБОУ] , abbreviation RNBO [U]) is a permanent constitutional government body of Ukraine for coordinating and supervising the activities of executive bodies in the field of national security and defense .

history

The council was created on July 3, 1992 under the name of the National Security Council . Its duties are regulated in Article 107 of the Constitution of Ukraine . The chairman is the President of Ukraine . This appoints the secretary of the RNBO.
