Oksana Markarova

Oksana Serhiyivna Markarova ( Ukrainian Оксана Сергіївна Маркарова ; born October 28, 1976 in Rivne , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian manager and politician. She has been Finance Minister of Ukraine since November 2018 .

Life

Oksana Markarowa went to school in Rivne and, after graduating from high school at the age of 17, studied between 1993 and 1998 at the National University "Kiev-Mohyla Academy" , which she received with a bachelor's and master's degree in Graduated from ecology.

After studying at Indiana University in Bloomington , which she completed between 1999 and 2001, she received a Masters in International Public Finance and Trade (MPA). She then worked for the International Electoral Systems Foundation and, as part of the Ukrainian Agricultural Commodity Exchange project , for the consulting firm Chemonics Intl. Inc. In 2000, she worked at the World Bank in the United States , where she worked in the Banking and Financial Markets group in the Europe and Central Asia region. Between 1998 and 1999, and again from 2001 to 2003, she worked as a policy advisor and external and corporate relations manager for the American direct investment fund Western NIS Enterprise Fund (now managed by Horizon Capital). From October 2003 to December 2014 she headed the ITT Investment Group.

Oksana Markarova has been working in the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine since March 2015. On April 29, 2016, she became “First Deputy Minister of Finance” and on June 7, 2018, she was appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to perform the duties of Minister of Finance. On November 22, 2018, she finally became Ukraine's finance minister in the Hroysman cabinet , succeeding Oleksandr Danyljuk , and retained this post in the Honcharuk cabinet even after the change of government .

Markarowa lives in Worsel near Kiev, is married and has one son and three daughters.
