Vitaly Haiduk

Vitaly Anatolijowytsch Haiduk ( Ukrainian Віталій Анатолійович Гайдук ; born July 12, 1957 in Chlibodariwka , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian businessman and politician.

Life

Vitaly Haiduk was born in a village in Donetsk Oblast and studied engineering and economics at the Polytechnic Institute in Donetsk until 1980 . In 2001 he received his habilitation as a candidate for science at the Institute of Industrial Organization of the NAS of Ukraine .

From 1994 to 1997 he was Deputy Chairman of the Donetsk Regional Council and First Vice-Governor of Donetsk Oblast.

From January 2000 to March 2001 he was First Deputy Minister for Fuels and Energy of Ukraine, from November 22, 2001 to November 26, 2002 in the Kinach Cabinet Minister for Fuels and Energy of Ukraine and from November 26, 2002 to November 5, 2002. December 2003 he was one of the Vice-Prime Ministers in the First Yanukovych Cabinet .

On October 10, 2006, he became secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and held this office until May 12, 2007.

He is one of the founders of the Donbass Industrial Union . According to Korrespondent magazine , he had a fortune of US $ 1.7 billion in 2006, which made him 7th in the 2006 ranking of the richest people in Ukraine. Due to the financial crisis, his fortune fell significantly, according to Forbes- Ukraine, his fortune in 2016 was 339,000,000 US $.
