Ruslan Ryaboshapka
Ruslan Heorhijowytsch Rjaboschapka ( Ukrainian Руслан Георгійович Рябошапка ; born November 14, 1976 in Selenohirske , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian lawyer. He was Attorney General of Ukraine from August 29, 2019 to March 5, 2020 .
Life
Ruslan Ryaboshapka was born in the urban-type Zelenohirske settlement in the north of the Odessa Oblast, Ukraine .
At the International Solomon University ( Міжнародний Соломонів університет Mishnarodnyj Solomoniw uniwersytet ) in Kiev Shevchenko district , he graduated in 1998 as a lawyer. For the next three years, he served as chief advisor to the head of the legal department for justice, law enforcement and defense; Deputy Director of the Ministry of Justice, Criminal Law, Procedural Law and Administrative Responsibility of the Ministry of Justice; Deputy head of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for the enforcement of judgments.
From 2001 to 2002 he was Deputy Director of the Ministry of Justice, Criminal Law, Procedural Law and Administrative Responsibility of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, and the following year he was the director of the Center for Legal Reform and Draft Law in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. From December 2003 he was head of the Ministry of Justice, Law Enforcement and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. He also headed the Ukrainian delegation at the plenary sessions of the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) of the Council of Europe . From June 21, 2010, he was the director of the newly created anti-corruption office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Secretariat of Ukraine.
After the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine removed the positions of Government Representative and Anti-Corruption Bureau in February 2011, he became Deputy Director of the Legal Department of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine that same month. Between October 2013 and March 2014 he headed the anti-corruption department at an NGO . During this time he became one of the leading authors and creators of legal norms for the prevention and prevention of bribery in the system of the executive authorities.
After the Euromaidan protests, he became Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine on March 19, 2014, and in March 2016 he became a member of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention, where he was involved in the fight against corruption and the avoidance of conflicts of interest until June 9, 2017. In the 2019 presidential election in Ukraine , he served as an advisor on law enforcement and anti-corruption policy to Ukrainian presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskyi . After Zelenskyj won the election, he appointed Ryaboshapka as deputy head of the presidential administration on May 21, 2019 . On June 25, 2019, he became chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Council.
At the first meeting of the newly elected Verkhovna Rada on August 29, 2019, it supported the appointment of Ryaboshapka as General Prosecutor of Ukraine with 312 votes. The President of Ukraine dismissed the day after Yuriy Lutsenko as acting Attorney General and appointed Ruslan Rjaboschapka by decree the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. Following a presidential decree of September 6, 2019, he also became a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine . On March 6, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada deposed him for allegedly acting against the interests of the state.

Rjaboschapka is married to Olesja Bartowschtschuk ( Олеся Андріївна Бартовщук ) and has three sons. They have French citizenship, as their mother works at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg .
Honors
Ryaboshapka received the honorary title of Honored Lawyer of Ukraine in 2010 . He was also awarded an honorary diploma from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
