Zelenohirske (Ukrainian Зеленогірське ; Russian Зеленогорское / Zelenogorskoje ) is an urban-type settlement in southern Ukraine , about 13 kilometers northwest of the district capital Lyubashivka and about 162 kilometers north of the oblast capital Odessa .
The place was built in 1959 as a workers' settlement for the construction of a large sugar refinery and was initially called Saplasy (Заплази), since 1978 the place has the status of an urban-type settlement and was renamed Selenohirske at the same time.
