Rosdilna (Ukrainian Роздільна ; Russian Раздельная / Rasdelnaja ) is a city in southern Ukraine , about 66 kilometers northwest of Odessa . It is the center of the Rosdilna Rajon of the same name and is located near the border with the Republic of Moldova at a railway junction.
The place was founded in 1863 as a settlement around a railway station, which was built here in the course of the construction of the railway line to Odessa ( railway line Krasne – Odessa ) with a branch to Bessarabia ( railway line Rosdilna – Iași , Rosdilna means "branch"). During the affiliation to Transnistria as part of Romania from 1941 to 1944, the place was officially named Razdelnaia . In 1957 it was given city status.
