Sachariwka (Ukrainian Захарівка ; Russian Захарьевка / Sacharjewka , Romanian Zaharievca ) is an urban-type settlement in the south of Ukraine . It is the administrative seat of the eponymous Rajon in the Odessa Oblast .
The settlement council municipality includes the 8 villages Balaschowe (Балашове) Hirkiwka (Гірківка) Hlybokojar (Глибокояр) Dawydiwka (Давидівка) Jelysawetiwka (Єлизаветівка) Majorske (Майорське) Nowopawliwka (Новопавлівка) and Stojanowe (Стоянове).
The place was founded in 1791 as Sacharjewka and renamed on November 7, 1927 in honor of the Soviet civil war leader Mikhail Vasilyevich Frunze in Frunzivka (Ukrainian Фрунзівка; Russian Фрунзовка / Frunsowka ). In 1963 the place received urban-type settlement status. On May 19, 2016 the place was renamed to its old name Sakariwka in the course of the decommunization of Ukraine .
