Biljajiwka (Ukrainian Біляївка ; Russian Беляевка / Beljajewka ) is a city in southern Ukraine , about 39 kilometers west of Odessa . It is the center of the Rajons Bilyayivka (but even administratively same no part) and is located on the east bank of the river Turuntschuk .

It was founded in the 17th century by fleeing Zaporozhian Cossacks under the name Golowkivka , became an urban-type settlement in 1957 and has had town charter since 1975. Since January 27, 2016, the city has been under oblast administration instead of under Rajons administration as before.
