The 1969/70 season was the 14th season of the third-class Verbandsliga Westfalen . Westphalia champion was Eintracht Gelsenkirchen , which, like runner-up Westfalia Herne, made the leap into the regional league in the following promotion round . Herringer SV , Blau-Weiß Langenbochum and BV Selm rose from Group 1 ; from group 2 of SC Gelsenkirchen 07 and VfL Hörde . TSV Marl-Hüls rose from the Regionalliga West to the Association League . SpVg Beckum , SpVg Emsdetten 05 , RSV Höh , 1. FC Paderborn , VfL Schlangen and the amateurs of SG Wattenscheid 09 rose from the national leagues . The amateurs of Borussia Dortmund changed next season of group 1 in group second

The two group winners determined the Westphalia champion in a decider. On May 24, 1969, Eintracht Gelsenkirchen won 2-1 against Westfalia Herne in the Herner Stadium at Strünkede Castle . Both teams qualified for the promotion round to Regionalliga West .

Qualification for the German Amateur Championship
