Paul Janowski (born June 3, 1917 ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Janowski learned to play football at Borussia Dortmund , where he was promoted to the first team in 1935. A year later, Borussia was promoted to what was then the first-class Gauliga Westfalen . In 1938 and 1942 , Janowski was runner-up with Borussia in the Gauliga behind FC Schalke 04 . After the end of the Second World War , Janowski belonged to the Dortmund team, which won the Westphalia championship with a 3-2 final victory over Schalke in 1947 and broke the years of Schalke domination.
In the 1947/48 season Janowski played with Borussia in the newly created Oberliga West . The left wing runner scored two goals in 17 games . After the season he moved to the Bielefeld suburb SV Brackwede , where he let his career end.
