Detlef Schnier

Detlef Schnier (born August 5, 1956 in Brackwede , today Bielefeld ) is a former German soccer player . The defender was active for VfL Osnabrück , Arminia Bielefeld and 1. FC Saarbrücken .

career

Schnier began his career at SV Brackwede . He moved to VfL Osnabrück through SVA Gütersloh in 1978 and made his professional debut with the second division team in the 1978/79 season . In 1979 he moved to Arminia Bielefeld and made it to the Bundesliga in the first season . After he was eighth with his team in 1983 and 1984, the team rose in 1985 after losing relegation games against 1. FC Saarbrücken. Schnier then moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken, but was rarely used there and was relegated from the Bundesliga again. Finally Schnier returned to Bielefeld. When Arminia was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga in 1988, he ended his career.

Schnier played 158 Bundesliga games (two goals) and 69 second division games (one goal).
