Nils Jönsson Oxenstierna

Nils Jönsson Oxenstierna (* between 1390 and 1394; † 1450 or 1451) was a Swedish nobleman from the family Oxenstierna and imperial administrator in 1448. His father was the imperial councilor Erik Nilsson (Oxenstierna) .

From 1441 he was a knight , from 1432 at the latest Reichsrat, captain on Borgholmen in 1436, captain on Stäkeholm , at least from 1438 and captain on Nyköpingshus , at least from 1442 to 1448 or 1449. From January to June 1448 he was with his brother Bengt Jönsson Oxenstierna imperial administrator in Sweden.

In 1418 he acquired an island which is now known as Gamla Djursholm . There he built a large manor, which, due to its location, had a natural moat and also controlled part of the shipping traffic to Stockholm and other parts of the country. In addition, he acquired land on the mainland and founded Djursholm Castle .
