Nils Langer (Germanist)

Nils Langer (born October 3, 1969 in Neumünster ) is a German specialist in German.

Life

After graduating from the Immanuel Kant School (Neumünster) and doing community service (1990–1991) at the Neumünster Workers' Welfare Association, he studied at Newcastle University from 1991 to 2000 (1993 ERASMUS semester at the Rijksuniversiteit Leiden , 1994 BA (Hons) in German and English Language, 1995 MA by Research in Theoretical Linguistics, 2000 PhD in German Historical Sociolinguistics). From 1999 to 2000 he was a Faculty Fellow in German at University College Dublin . From 2000 to 2016 he was Lecturer , Reader and Professor at the University of Bristol (2006 Senior Lecturer in German, 2008 Reader in German Linguistics, 2013 Professor of Germanic Linguistics, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010 Visiting Lecturer in German Linguistics, University of Oxford ). Since 2016 he has been Professor of Minority Research, Minority Education and North Frisian at the Europa-Universität Flensburg .
