Nilze Carvalho

Nilze Carvalho (born July 28, 1969 in Nova Iguaçu , State of Rio de Janeiro ), actually Albenise de Carvalho Ricardo , is a Brazilian mandolinist , cavaquinho player , singer and composer who mainly devotes herself to choro .

Life

Nilze Carvalho started playing cavaquinho at the age of 5 and made her first public appearances at the age of 6. Between the ages of 11 and 14, she recorded a series of four records as a mandolinist under the title Choro de Menina .

Her international career began in 1984, followed by tours of several European countries, China, Australia, the United States and Japan, where she lived for seven years. She has been working with the Sururu na Roda group for some time .
