Nina Mytrofaniwna Matvijenko ( Ukrainian Ніна Митрофанівна Матвієнко ; born October 10, 1947 in Nedilyschtsche , Zhytomyr Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian singer.

Life

From 1958 on, Nina Matviyenko went to school in a boarding school in the village of Potiyivka ( Radomyshl Raion ). From 1966 she sang in the Kiev Ukrainian choir "Hryhorij Werowka", in which she sang as a soloist from 1968 to 1991. Nina Matviyenko finished her studies in Ukrainian Philology at the University of Kiev in 1975 . In 1978 she won the Union-wide competition "Young Voices" and in 1979 the All-Union television competition "With a song for life". Her repertoire includes many folk songs, ballads and Ukrainian songs from the 17th and 18th centuries. She has performed in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Korea, Finland and France, among others.
