Nina Schmitz

Nina Schmitz (born April 2, 1968 in Geseke ) is a German photo artist and filmmaker ( director and script ).

Life

Nina Schmitz studied photography with Bernd and Hilla Becher at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . In 1996 she was honored as a master student by Bernd Becher. Since then she has exhibited in national and international exhibitions. Nina Schmitz was listed together with Oliver Mauelshagen as part of the artist duo Schmitz & Mauelshagen in the German Association of Artists in the form of a joint entry in the membership directory. In 2004 she made her first films as a director. In 2007 she directed the art advertising campaign "AWISTA Angels" for the Düsseldorf garbage disposal. Since 2009 she has lived in Berlin with her two daughters. Here she realizes the Transfer FilmArt project "Happy Together in Berlin".
