Life
After graduating from high school, von Arx went to Switzerland to take acting lessons. From 1990 to 1991 she attended the acting school Totales Theater in Bern . At a theater workshop in Berlin she suddenly realized that she wanted to go to America. She was then from 1992 to 1993 with Susan Batson in the acting school The Actors Studio in New York and lived in Greenwich Village . By chance she met a friend Robert De Niros who introduced them to each other, which ended with her getting a small role in the movie A Bronx Tale . At the time she confessed in an interview: “Robert De Niro was really nice, no starry air. A great personality. I was even invited to his birthday party, where I met Robert's family along with other Hollywood stars ”.
In 1994 Woody Allen was looking for a French woman for his film Bullets Over Broadway . Von Arx had learned the accent, pretended to be French, and got this little role. She commented on Woody Allen's reaction in an interview. “He laughed when he found out that I was not from France. He is very humble, small and friendly ”.
After a failed short marriage with actor George Orange, Nina von Arx returned to Germany in 1994. In 1995, under her then name Nina Sonja Peterson, she took on the role of Vera Klingenberg, an employee at the Hansson-Palace-Hotel im Schreibpool, in the ZDF series girl friends - friendship with heart , which she played from episode 1 to episode 60 . Then she got out of the 89-part series.
Nina von Arx speaks English and French and lists horse riding, karate, diving and skiing as preferred sports. She also plays the piano.
