The Nintendo DS Browser is a version of the Opera web browser adapted to the Nintendo DS . With this paid program it is possible to use the Internet with the wireless LAN capability of the Nintendo DS. However, neither Flash nor Java content is supported. Since the internal memory of the Nintendo DS of 4 megabytes is not sufficient for downloading Internet pages, a so-called "Memory Expansion Pack" is included with the browser, which expands the system's memory by 10 megabytes.

The browser was released in Japan on July 24, 2006, in Europe on October 6, 2006 and on June 8, 2007 in the United States .

There is a version for the normal Nintendo DS and for the Nintendo DS Lite, which differ in the design of the "Memory Expansion Pack". The version of the browser is 8.5 according to User-Agent String .

For the Nintendo DSi, the browser is available free of charge under the name “Nintendo DS Browser” in the DSi Shop; a “Memory Expansion Pack” is not required. However, as of March 31, 2017, the browser and other content can no longer be downloaded from the Nintendo DSi Shop. The version for the DSi uses the Opera Presto 9.5 engine. A browser is already integrated in the operating system on the Nintendo 3DS , but this is no longer an Opera browser, but the NetFront browser from Access , which was specially developed for mobile devices.
