Nipple wrench
A Nippelspanner also spoke clamp , spoke wrench , spoke wrench or centering keys called, is a tool to the spoke nipples, special square sleeve nuts, of bicycle - or motorcycle wheels to tighten or loosen and center so by changing the spoke tension the wheels.
With the help of the nipple tensioner, the tension of a bicycle spoke on the spoke nipple can be adjusted. These sit on the spokes with a thread and can be adjusted by turning the spoke wrench. The best-known areas of application for the bicycle tool are the removal of a runout error (colloquially also called eight or eight ), straightening bent rims and replacing individual broken spokes and re-spoking a wheel . When using the device, care should be taken to approach the result slowly and evenly, otherwise a sideways movement can easily turn into a vertical movement .
Simple designs grip the nipple at two corners. Nipple-friendly models are those that start at three or four corners.
