Nippon (confectionery)

The Nippon confectionery consists of puffed rice snacks with other cereals in cocoa cream that are coated with milk chocolate . They are manufactured by the Hosta company from Stimpfach near Crailsheim.

Product variants

Nippon is offered as a five by five centimeter and about one centimeter thick, square portion (12.5 g). The advertising slogan is “delicious, easy, light”. The ChocoNippon variant is also available. This contains a higher proportion of chocolate and is offered both as a tablet and as small bars. There is a variant in the form of pralines under the name nippolino .

history

A puffed rice product under the name nippon first came onto the market in 1956, at that time still in bar form. In 1974 the “crispy appetizers” were introduced in the square shape that is still known today. A market analysis by Ernest Dichter's institute in 1992 confirmed the attributes of crispness, lightness and balanced chocolate sweetness.

In 1994 the ChocoNippon chocolate bar was added to the range. In the same year, a study confirmed that the brand name nippon is one of the most prominent confectionery brands in Germany with a level of awareness of 88%. In 2003 the nippon minis expanded the range. From the food magazine was nippon "brand Top" award in 2012 as well.
