The party Nippon no Kokoro ( Japanese 日本 の こ こ ろ , about "Japan's heart", English The Party for Japanese Kokoro ) was a political party in Japan .

It was named Jisedai no Tō ( Japanese 次世代 の 党 , "Party of the Next Generation [s]", English The Party for Future Generations ) in the summer of 2014 by the group of MPs around Shintarō Ishihara in the split of the previous Nippon Ishin no Kai , which at the same time formally dissolved and re-founded under Tōru Hashimoto . When the Jisedai no Tō was founded, there were 22 members in the national parliament, 19 in the lower house, three in the upper house; making it the third largest opposition party. The lower house faction of the same name was founded in early July 2014, the party formally on August 1. Party chairman (tōshu) was Takeo Hiranuma , general secretary Hiroshi Yamada , the general assembly of deputies of both chambers was led by Nariaki Nakayama , the upper house deputies Kyōko Nakayama , Ishihara was on the party's executive committee "highest adviser" (saikō komon) .

Even if it was called “Party of the Next Generation”, the average age of the MPs when it was founded was 57 years and that of several leading members was at least 70 years. The upper house member Katsuhiko Eguchi , who left the Minna no Tō in July 2014 , joined the Jisedai no Tō a few weeks after the party was founded.

In the 2014 general election , all MPs were voted out of office with the exception of Takeo Hiranuma (Okayama 3) and Hiroyuki Sonoda (Kumamoto 4). Both left the party in 2015 and returned to the LDP. Since the party was founded until the end of 2015, four members of the House of Lords joined and three left. In December 2015, the party was renamed Nippon no kokoro o taisetsu ni suru tō ( 日本 の こ こ ろ を 大 切 に す る 党 , about "Party that the heart of Japan is important", English The Party for Japanese Kokoro ). Kazuyuki Hamada resigned two months before the 2016 upper house election . In the election, Kokoro was left without a seat, but she did not lose any, as no member was up for re-election. Masamune Wada left the party in November 2016.

In January 2017, the two remaining members formed a joint upper house parliamentary group with the Liberal Democratic Party . It took on its current name in February 2017.

Chairwoman Kyōko Nakayama left the party in September 2017 and joined the Kibō no Tō . Masashi Nakano was the only remaining member of parliament to take over all high party offices.

In October 2018, Nakano announced his return to the LDP, the party became part of the LDP on November 1, 2018.
