Njáll Trausti Friðbertsson

Njáll Trausti Friðbertsson ( transcribed Njall Trausti Fridbertsson ; born December 31, 1969 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic politician of the Independence Party .

Life

Njáll Trausti Friðbertsson worked as an air traffic controller at Akureyri Airport since 1992 . He holds a BA in Business Administration from Akureyri University (2004). He has been a member of the Independence Party's Environment and Transport Committee since 2012. From 2014 to 2016 he was a member of Akureyri City Council .

In the parliamentary election on October 29, 2016 , Njáll Trausti Friðbertsson was elected to the Icelandic parliament Althing as the candidate of the Independence Party for the North-Eastern constituency . He was re-elected in the early parliamentary elections on October 28, 2017 .

As of May 2019, he is a member of the parliamentary committees for budget and business affairs and chairs the Icelandic delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly .
