Nkonkobe

Municipal area until 2016

The municipality ( Local Municipality ) Nkonkobe was part of the Amathole District , Eastern Cape Province in South Africa . 127,115 inhabitants lived on an area of ​​3,724 km² (as of 2011). The seat of the municipal administration was Fort Beaufort .

Together with the then Local Municipality Nxuba , this administrative district formed the Fort Beaufort Education District (German about: Fort Beaufort School District).

In the community area was the campus of an agricultural and forestry college, the Fort Cox College of Agriculture and Forestry .

In 2016, Nkonkobe was merged with Nxuba to form the Raymond Nhlaba community.
