Noémie Merlant
Noémie Merlant (born November 27, 1988 in Paris ) is a French actress .
Life
Merlant was born in Paris, but grew up in Rezé, not far from Nantes , from the age of five . She attended the Lycée Notre-Dame and began working as a model after graduating from the Baccalauréat in Paris. Between 2007 and 2011 she studied acting at the Cours Florent and appeared in front of the camera in several short films. She made her screen debut in Delphine Gleize's La permission de minuit in 2011 . For the leading role of Éléonore in Jacques Richard's L'orpheline avec en plus un bras en moins , Merlant was shortlisted in 2013 for a César for Best Young Actress .
Other roles in film and television followed. In 2014, Merlant worked for the first time with director Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar in The Students of Madame Anne . Merlant not only starred in À tous les vents du ciel 2016, but also sang the title Fate , which was featured on the film's soundtrack. For her role as IS sympathizer Sonia in Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar's film Heaven will wait , Merlant was nominated for a César in the category Best Young Actress in 2017. With the short film comedy Je suis #unebiche , Merlant released her directorial debut in 2017; she also wrote the script.
