Noëlle Châtelet (born October 16, 1944 in Meudon near Paris ) is a French actress and author . She lives in Paris, where she teaches communication studies at the University of Paris V (DESS).

Madame Châtelet is the sister of the former French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin and the widow of the philosopher François Châtelet .

Until 1987 she worked as an actress in film and television. For example, she worked on the 1979 television series Buddenbrooks based on the novel by Thomas Mann as Gerda Buddenbrook. From 1989 to 1991 she was Director of the Institut Français in Florence and from 1995 to 1999 President of the Maison des écrivains in Paris. She is currently Vice President of the Société des Gens de Lettres .

She received the Prix ​​Goncourt de la Nouvelle and for The Lady in Blue the Prix ​​Anna de Noailles of the Académie française .

Her novels, short stories and essays have been translated into several languages.
