Nobile is an impact crater on the front of the Moon near the South Pole, south of Scott Crater and southwest of Amundsen . The irregular oval shaped crater rim is badly eroded, the inside uneven.
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1994 after the Italian airship builder and Arctic pioneer Umberto Nobile .
