Nobis Printen is a family-run bakery company that has existed since 1858 with 38 bakeries and bakery cafés in and around Aachen . The range includes bread, rolls, pastries such as cakes and particles as well as snacks . The house specialties include Butter- Poschweck , Aachener Printen , Domspitzen and other Christmas cookies such as Christmas stollen , Spekulatius and cinnamon stars .
history
Nobis Printen was founded in 1858 by master baker Johannes Michael Nobis on Aachen's Pontstraße . His son, master baker Josef Nobis, took over the bakery in 1895 and opened a second bakery on Sandkaulstrasse in 1923, which was later continued by one of his sons, master baker Franz Nobis. In 1932, another son of Josef Nobis, master baker Heinz Nobis, opened a bakery with his wife Netty on Kaiserallee, today's Oppenhoffallee. This bakery is now Nobis Printen's oldest existing shop.
Josef Nobis jun. took over the bakery on Pontstraße from his father in 1938 and ran the company until 2002. The bakeries that still exist today on Hotmannspief , Krämerstraße and Wirichsbongardstraße were opened in the 1950s. Since then, the bakery has had the addition “Printen” in its name.
Master baker Michael Johannes Nobis, the son of Josef Nobis junior, joined the management of the company, which was still run as a craft, in 1993. In 1994, a new bakery was put into operation on Charlottenburger Allee, which was expanded in 2005.

Awards
- The international gourmet journal Der Feinschmecker recommends Nobis Printen as one of 500 addresses in Germany in the "Culinary Shopping" issue 4/2012.
- Every year Nobis Printen has also received the gold DLG medal and the gold CMA quality label for the Aachener Printen and the Butter-Poschweck. In 2007 Nobis Printen was also honored with the honorary certificate for 15 years of successful participation for outstanding services to the promotion of quality.
- Nobis Printen was awarded the Meister.Werk.NRW prize in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 by the Minister of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, Johannes Remmel.
Nobis initiative
The Nobis Initiative was launched in 2008 for the 150th anniversary of Nobis Printen. It supports aid organizations, charitable institutions, kindergartens and parishes in the Aachen city region with projects on the subject of nutrition for children. The Nobis Initiative supports projects that ensure the healthy nutrition of the children and young people in care over the long term. The focus is also on conveying togetherness and the importance of healthy eating.
In 2011, owner Michael Nobis received the “Aachen Sozial” award, presented by “Die Familienunternehmer - ASU”.
