With Noblesse [ noblɛs ] ( French from Latin nobilis = Noble, a member of the old Roman ruling class that the highest offices of state in ancient Rome held) referred to the French nobility , d. H. both the birth needle ( noblesse de race ), the letter needle ( noblesses par lettres ), as well as of the third state assigned official and service needle ( nobles of the robe ) which was only partially hereditary. In the course of the French Revolution , the old titles of nobility in France were revoked in 1789 . However, they were in 1814 under Louis XVIII. renewed.
