Nocturne Records

Nocturne Records was an independent record label founded in Los Angeles in 1953 by musicians Roy Harte and Harry Babasin . The label was one of the pioneering labels of West Coast jazz . There the first records by Bob Enevoldsen , Bud Shank , Lou Levy , Virgil Gonsalves and Jimmy Rowles were released. Recordings by Conley Graves , Earl Hines , Harry Babasin, Herbie Harper , Peggy Connelly and Steve White were also part of the label's catalog, which merged with Liberty Records in March 1955 and was continued there in the Jazz in Hollywood series .
