Noun nudum
Noun nudum (plural: nomina nuda ) is a Latin technical term from biological nomenclature and literally means "naked name".
In biological nomenclature, this term denotes the purported name of a taxon that does not meet the requirements of the respective nomenclature code for its availability in the initial scientific description . This can, for example, by a false name derivation in the case of names of families , the lack of a differential diagnosis or a reference to such a diagnosis or by the lack of mention of a type species in case of a new animal genus be caused. Because of such formal defects that term is not recognized as scientific name is invalid , and thus for a new description available .
