history

Already in 1487 the then when it was Hilliger path called Path (Low German Pättken ) mentioned Gravenhorst in a document of the monastery. It led directly to the great tower of the former castle in Bevergern . The canons also bought his town house in Bevergern from an indebted citizen in 1643. It was intended to serve as a refuge for the nuns in danger. The half-timbered house , now known as the monastery courtyard, was built in 1669 and continued to serve as a refuge after the Thirty Years' War . So the name Nonnenpättken became common for the connection route to the Gravenhorst monastery.
