Roberto Zapperi
Roberto Zapperi (born January 20, 1932 in Catania ) is an Italian historian and writer .
Life
Roberto Zapperi studied history and cultural anthropology in Rome. For the Istituto della Enciclopedia Italiana he worked in the editorial department of the Dizionario biografico degli Italiani and as supervisor of the historical-anthropological section of the Bibliotheca Biographica . In the 1980s he taught as a visiting professor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris .
In 1997/1998 Zapperi was a fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin and a Warburg professor in Hamburg . Since 2008 he has been a member of the German Academy for Language and Poetry in Darmstadt .
Zapperi published several books and numerous articles. His wife, the art historian Ingeborg Walter , translates his books into German ; he translates hers into Italian . His books have also been translated into Spanish , French , English , Japanese and Korean .
