Nook Island ( English for corner island ) is a small, sheltered island in the archipelago of the Heard and McDonald Islands in the southern Indian Ocean . It is located in the northwest corner of the Stephenson Lagoon on Heard Island .

Australian scientists named them after their geographic location in the Stephenson Lagoon.
