Nora from Kelmendi

Nora von Kelmendi ( Albanian  Nora e Kelmendit ) was an Albanian noblewoman who lived in the 17th century and is now especially venerated in northern Albania . She is sometimes referred to as " Helena of Albania" because her beauty also sparked a great war, and also as "Albanian Brünhilde " as she is considered the greatest warrior in Albania's history.

Nora von Kelmendi led an army of 300 Albanian women against the Ottomans . In a duel she beheaded Vutsi Pasha of Bosnia , the commander in chief of the Ottoman army .
