Norbert Scherbaum (lawyer)

Norbert Scherbaum (born August 14, 1957 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian lawyer . He became known in Austria as liquidator of the Graz football clubs SK Sturm Graz and Grazer AK .

Career

Scherbaum studied law in Salzburg and has been working as a lawyer since 1984. He specializes primarily in insolvency and corporate restructuring, but also in banking and capital law as well as corporate law.

In Graz he works for the law firm Scherbaum-Seebacher .

Bankruptcies of two football clubs in Graz

In October 2006 bankruptcy proceedings were opened against SK Sturm Graz and Norbert Scherbaum was appointed as trustee by the Graz bankruptcy court. On January 25, 2007, the forced compensation of the SK Sturm succeeded.
He was reinstated in this position in February after the second Graz soccer club, GAK , slipped into bankruptcy proceedings. The GAK was also able to avert its bankruptcy proceedings with a compulsory settlement. In the spring of 2008, the GAK even had to file a second bankruptcy, again with a compulsory settlement application and again Scherbaum was appointed as trustee; this bankruptcy also had a positive outcome.

After the positive conclusion of the second bankruptcy proceedings, things became largely quiet around Norbert Scherbaum, he continues to work in his Graz office. However, Scherbaum is still a household name for fans and those in charge of both clubs.
