Norbert Schneider (media manager)

Norbert Schneider (born August 7, 1940 in Langenau , Württemberg ) is a German theologian, media manager and publicist.

Life

Norbert Schneider studied Protestant theology and journalism from 1959 to 1964 at the Universities of Tübingen, Marburg and Hamburg, receiving his doctorate in 1968. From 1968 to 1970, Norbert Schneider was an assistant at the theological faculty of the University of Marburg, and in 1971 a speaker at the Evangelical Conference for Communication in Frankfurt am Main. He completed vicariates and a traineeship at the SWF. From 1971 to 1981 Norbert Schneider was director in the joint venture of Evangelical Journalism in Frankfurt am Main, then until 1986 director for radio and television at Sender Freies Berlin, from 1986 to 1993 managing director of Allianz-Film GmbH Berlin. In 1993 Norbert Schneider became director of the State Agency for Media North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM) in Düsseldorf. From January 1999 to March 2003 he took over the chairmanship of the directors' conference of the state media authorities (DLM).

From 2003 Norbert Schneider was the commissioner for programming and advertising of the commission for approval and supervision of the state media authorities (ZAK) and member of the commission for the determination of the concentration in the media area (KEK). In 2004, the Ministry of Science in North Rhine-Westphalia awarded Norbert Schneider the title of professor. In 2010 Norbert Schneider retired as Director of the State Media Authority in North Rhine-Westphalia .

He has written works on radio / television / media and edited specialist publications. Memberships existed in media bodies: z. B. Mahrenholz Commission, Administrative Board GEP, Frankfurt am Main, Award Committee of the Filmstiftung NRW , Education Center BürgerMedien, Advisory Board of the Mainz Days of TV Criticism .
