Norbert Wagner (politician)

Norbert Wagner (born April 11, 1936 in Sulzbach / Saar ; † November 7, 1994 there ) was a German politician ( FDP / DPS ).

After graduating from high school in Sulzbach, Wagner studied history, sport, politics and sociology for teaching at the Saarland University . From 1966 he then worked as a teacher at his former grammar school.

Wagner joined the FDP in 1963. From 1973 he was parliamentary group chairman in the Sulzbach city council. He was able to move up to the Saarland state parliament in July 1982 and was re-elected in 1985 and 1990. From 1990 he was chairman of the local FDP parliamentary group. After internal party disputes, he resigned his state parliament mandate in 1992 and finally resigned from the FDP in 1994. A few months later, Wagner died of heart disease in the Knappschaft's hospital in his hometown, after waiting in vain for a donor heart. Norbert Wagner was married twice and had a daughter.
