Life

Norbert von Brandenburg was probably elected Bishop of Brandenburg in 1192. His consecration did not take place until the following year, after May 16, 1193. He was ordained bishop by the Archbishop of Magdeburg, Ludolf von Kroppenstedt . He assisted in the ordination of Konrad von Krosigk as bishop of Halberstadt on January 1, 1202. At the ordination of Dietrich von Meißen as bishop of Merseburg on September 19, 1204, he took part. The last written mention of Norbert von Brandenburg dates back to July 25, 1205.

Presumably he is identical with the canon from 1183 to 1184 of the monastery of Our Dear Women .

seal

He had a round seal. In the seal field was the seated bishop, on whose head the miter sits. In the right hand the bishop holds the crook and in the left hand the opened Gospel book. The inscription of the seal has not been preserved.
