The Kiel Canal Exhibition in Kiel-Wik presents models and photos of the construction and operation of the Eider Canal and the Kiel Canal .

The Kiel Canal, opened in 1895, is used annually by 40,000 - 50,000 ships which carry around 70 - 80 million tons. In the exhibition set up for the anniversary in 1995, numerous models and pictures can be viewed as part of a guided tour. The exhibition is located in the former machine house for the original water hydraulics and electrical power generation. Models and graphics demonstrate the construction of the previous facility as well as the 34-kilometer-long Eider Canal, opened in 1784 and integrated into the later NOK. Color photos and explanatory texts on display boards provide information about the construction, maintenance and operation of the Kiel Canal and the four locks in Kiel-Holtenau. There are also special features of the channel, such as For example, the background to the use of special canal helmsmen who support the canal pilots during passage is documented.

In the upper part of the exhibition, a section of the canal with lighting is set up as a model. In 2013, the exhibition at the old location in Kiel Holtenau was closed and moved to machine hall I of the former technical naval school in Wik. There she is now being looked after by the Maritime Quarter Association.
