Nordahl (footballer family)

The Nordahl family is a Swedish footballer family. The brothers Bertil , Knut , Gunnar and the twins Gösta and Göran all played in the highest Swedish league, some of them abroad. Thomas , the son of Gunnar, played like his father in Sweden and Italy.

Bertil, Knut and Gunnar became Olympic champions at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Knut was third at the 1950 World Cup with the Swedish national team , Thomas failed with the national team at the 1970 World Cup in the preliminary round.

In league games, Gunnar is the most successful player in the family. Between 1950 and 1955 he was the top scorer in Serie A five times , with 210 goals he is still the most successful goalscorer at AC Milan and is in the all-time list of top scorers in the top Italian league with 225 goals in 291 games in third place behind Silvio Piola and Francesco Totti .
