The North German Radio Museum is located on the top floor of the so-called Bördehuus Loomst in the Lamstedt Landscape Park ( Cuxhaven district ) in Lower Saxony . Here, at least 100 of the 800 existing working exhibits are constantly on display in a changing exhibition. The exhibition shows a chronological tour through over 90 years of German broadcasting history. The museum was founded by Wolfgang Tenschert , a passionate radio collector. Due to a serious illness, the museum had to remain closed for a long time. However, it has been open again regularly since June 2010 and has been managed by Thomas Schult and Jens Dede ever since.

history

In January 1988, the first discussions were held with radio collectors Wolfgang Tenschert and Siegfried Grüttner , who by then already owned around 600 exhibits. After the joint municipality of Börde Lamstedt decided in spring 1991 to buy a specialist hall house in Nindorf , it was initially dismantled and temporarily stored. In 1994 the Lamstedt landscape park was finally determined. In the summer of 1997 talks were held with the local associations, as it was clear that the reconstruction of the hall building could not be financed alone and therefore voluntary workers had to be found. The foundation stone was laid on December 17, 1998 and the topping-out ceremony took place on April 28, 1999. The radio museum was inaugurated on January 13, 2001 in the Bördehuus.
