geography

Joint community structure

The integrated community consists of the five member communities Armstorf , Hollnseth , Lamstedt , Mittelstenahe and Stinstedt .

history

The integrated community has only existed since the 1960s. However, they can look back on a long history together. Lamstedt was first mentioned in 1115 as parochia lamstede in church documents. Archaeological finds show, however, that the Börde must have been settled much earlier. It is recorded in the Vörder Register around 1500 and is therefore mentioned by name for the first time. However, it was not yet a matter of communal unity, but of the parish (parochia).

In 1746 an agent for the Lamstedt Börde is mentioned. He was responsible to the bailiff in Bremervörde for proper municipal administration. More than a hundred years ago, the Lamstedt community was responsible for managing the poor house. Until 1934, the joint municipality was the guarantor of the local savings bank under the name “Sparkasse der Börde Lamstedt”.

On February 27, 1963, 13 of the then 16 municipalities of the Lamstedt Börde merged on a voluntary basis to form a single municipality. Stinstedt joined on June 19, 1967, Armstorf on January 1, 1969 and Nindorf on January 1, 1970. With the administrative and territorial reform of 1972, the number of municipalities decreased to five.

Origin of name

The term Börde is derived from the Low German bören . It means something like carrying or lifting. The flange used to be a district, whose residents share the public burdens Boeren , that is had to bear. An appropriate translation of the word Börde is therefore tax levying district .
