North head
The north head is an urban area in Wolfsburg that borders directly on the Mittelland Canal and represents the northern end of the city center . It is one of the most dynamically changing areas in the city.

The main station , the CinemaxX cinema , two large hotels, the phæno (science center), large branches of the Barmer Ersatzkasse and Audi BKK , the central bus station ( ZOB ), the job center and numerous shops and restaurants are located at the north head .
The Nordkopf area begins in the south at the Kleiststraße / Porschestraße intersection and extends through Porschestraße and Bahnhofspassage in a northerly direction to Heinrich-Nordhoff-Straße and Willy-Brandt-Platz (square in front of the main train station, CinemaxX, phæno, formerly "Hinrich-Kopf-Platz").
Projects
- Several new buildings were built on the former Hertie site; Of the Hertie building complex, only the part of the building (south wing) that used to contain the grocery department (ground floor) and the department store restaurant (1st floor) remained. This part of the building was converted into a market hall and a Mongolian-Chinese restaurant.
- The Designer Outlets Wolfsburg was completed in 2007 on the former depot of Wolfsburger Verkehrs GmbH (behind the administrative building of Stadtwerke Wolfsburg) ; the city council expected several million visitors a year.
- The new corporate headquarters and customer center of LSW (LandE-Stadtwerke GmbH) were built at the north head for 15 million euros; the old customer center of the Wolfsburg municipal utilities was demolished for this purpose.

- 21 bus lines stop at the central bus station on the north head.
- Around 450 people worked in the main administration of the Deutsche BKK .
