North Korean national badminton team
The North Korean national badminton team represents North Korea in international badminton competitions . As a team, it competes as an all-male team (e.g. in the Thomas Cup ), all-female team (e.g. in the Uber Cup ) or a mixed team (e.g. in the Sudirman Cup ), but international appearances are rare. In addition to only four participations in the named team world championships or the qualifications for them, the badminton players from North Korea also appeared, for example, at the Asian Games in 1974, the individual world championships of the WBF in 1978 and 1979, the individual world championships of the IBF in 1991, the Asian Youth Games 2013 as well as in the former socialist brother countries such as the International Werner Seelenbinder Memorial Tournament in the GDR.
