Achim Meerkamp

Achim Meerkamp (born July 24, 1955 in Duisburg ) is a German trade unionist and was a member of the federal executive committee of the United Services Union .

Career

In 1973 , Meerkamp graduated from secondary school, after three more years he completed his training as a secretary for the railway, which he held until 1980 . From then on he was a full-time trade union official in various positions, from the employee of the Recklinghausen district administration to the deputy chairmanship of the Rhineland-Palatinate district for the public services, transport and traffic union , he was elected to the federal board of ver.di from 2007 . For ver.di he is also head of the departmental groups 6 federal and state and 7 municipalities . In 2015 he did not run for the federal executive again.

He is married and has two children.
