The northern bypass Pasing is a bypass road that leads the Bundesstraße 2 around the center of Pasing .

background

The B2, which affects Munich with its function as an important north-south connection, is one of the main arteries of the Bavarian capital. In the western district of Pasing, it previously led via Bodenseestraße , Pasinger Marienplatz and Landsberger Straße to Bundesstraße 2 R , the middle ring . Every day around 80,000 vehicles pass through Pasing on the B2.

In order to relieve the center of Pasing and its pedestrian-friendly design, the B2 was swiveled and routed via the northern bypass Pasing (NUP) . This new bypass, the construction of which began in 2008, was opened to traffic in 2012.

course

The northern bypass Pasing leaves the previous street course to the north to the west of the town center, follows Lortzingstraße and continues south along the railway to the east. The station facilities and Offenbachstrasse will be crossed using previously fallow former freight and industrial areas until the road turns south and meets Landsberger Strasse again at the knee . Landsberger Straße is to be cut in an east-west direction at Pasinger Marienplatz, so that only development traffic is expected on this section; the load on the central section should only be between 2,000 and 10,000 vehicles per day. The traffic-free Pasinger Marienplatz is to be redesigned; a pedestrian zone is planned between Pasinger Bahnhofsplatz and Landsberger Strasse in Gleichmannstrasse and Bäckerstrasse.

The north bypass is above ground in the station area between the reception building and the platforms, with short-term parking spaces , taxi stands and a Kiss & Ride lane being provided in the area of the reception building .

The newly created street between Landsberger Straße / Am Knie and Lortzingstraße was named Josef-Felder-Straße after a resolution of the city council on October 1, 2009 .
